Cusco: Criticism of a couple of pictures ... Are huachafo innovation or something?

is
curious to observe events that are attempts at innovation in the provinces remote from our capital. Some time ago, in February, was the beauty pageant "Miss International 2010 Cusco", with girls more "beautiful" in my hometown taking them to pose for catwalks and photo shoots taken with ancient landscapes Cuzco. What drives me to write these lines were a couple of photos that make me think * which is the limit to combine tradition with contemporary issues.

environments and landscapes of the photos are clearly and distinctly and traditional Cuzco: monuments and archaeological sites to the ancient houses and balconies downtown. The contrast between these funds and the girls in bikini or dress is quite strong, and the retouched in Photoshop, but it was discussed in local and national advertising of clothing "baby alpaca" or even beer.

What is questionable, in my opinion, were just a couple of photos in addition to the fund increase a rather odd and strange, a contrast that I imagine observe:

The detail is that children in the photos give a contrast which, in my view, is out of context. Show local children in traditional costumes in this way, together Cuzco models in bathing suits, is how to use objects for a few pictures, unless it has been supported as a joint activity of social responsibility to the people of Lares from which the photos, which, at least not reported on the event website .

On the other hand, what is the "huachafo? According to the SAR, is a term used in Peru and Bolivia to mark the "cheesy", ie according to the same institution, "said one thing: that, with the appearance of elegance and wealth, is ridiculous and disgusting." In my opinion, these photos mixed awkwardly "beauty" with "humility" feature of this area, trying to unite the traditional with something innovative without success, so "huachafo" if the term is applied.

Despite this inconvenience, and skipping the "photoshop" or assembly of the photos, I think it's an exciting and innovative event in Cusco. Although separate topic, but related, I should mention that Cusco is an ancient city that calls modernity (shopping, cinema, events, concerts, etc..), Is paradoxical and, in turn, difficult issues that must be worn with great caution and prudence. ----------------------------------------------
